Follow the star

What if the simplest way to understand our spiritual journey is through the eyes of a child? This beautiful Christmas presentation reminds us that following Jesus is like following a star—it requires trust, faith, and sometimes taking unexpected detours. Through the story of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and the wise men, we're invited to see how God guides us even when the path seems unclear. The Magi didn't have GPS or detailed maps, just a star and faith that it would lead them to the King. Similarly, we have the Bible as our guidebook and the Holy Spirit as our compass. The children's presentation of 'Follow the Star' teaches us that God often works through the ordinary—shepherds doing their daily work, a young woman living her normal life—and transforms it into something extraordinary. The central message from John 8:12 echoes throughout: 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.' This isn't just poetic language; it's a powerful invitation to step out of confusion and fear into clarity and hope. When we choose to follow the Light, we gain understanding, wisdom, and the ability to see things from God's perspective. Just as the star pointed the way to Jesus, we're called to be lights in our world, pointing others toward the hope we've found.
