Perfect Peace

What if the secret to perfect peace was already wired into you by God himself? This message takes us on a surprising journey through Acts chapter 2 and Isaiah chapter 26, uncovering a truth that many of us have overlooked for years. When Isaiah writes that God will keep us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him, the Hebrew word behind 'mind' is 'yetzer,' meaning imagination. That single discovery reframes everything. David, a man who faced giants, wrote hundreds of songs, committed grave failures, and yet remained a man after God's own heart, practiced something profound. He saw the Lord always at his right hand. Not physically, but in his imagination. And the result was a chain reaction of inner states: no fear, gladness of heart, a tongue full of praise, a body filled with hope, and the joy of God's presence. We are invited into that same practice. Our imagination is not a trivial or even dangerous faculty. It is a God-given capacity to frame up reality before it manifests, to co-create with him as bearers of his image. When our imagination is steadfastly fixed on the Lord and his promises, perfect peace is not a distant hope. It is the natural outcome of trust.
